Adopted into the family of God.
Galatians 4:5 ‘To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.’
In Christ, we are lifted from the drudgery of trying to obey the law
into the freedom of being part of the family of God.
We have been adopted as sons and daughters of the living God.
Not the adoption of an unrelated child
but the adoption of children born anew of the Spirit of God.
It is because we are His children that we can live a holy life.
It is because His life dwells in us that we can love as He loved;
we can serve as He served;
we can forgive as He forgave;
and we can take the lowest place because we are His children.
