Jesus condemned sin through the cross.
Romans 8:3 ‘For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:’
The law cannot show mercy.
It cannot lift those who are fallen.
It reveals the darkest side of the heart
but cannot cleanse the smallest spot.
What we do cannot change our sinful state.
Jesus condemned sin through the cross.
He does show mercy,
He is able to lift those who are fallen,
The judgment of sin revealed the beauty of His character
and the sweetness of His grace.
Religion has no grace to bestow;
sacraments have no power to save;
Christ alone is our hope and trust.
